Ficus pumila
{24 Pots - 3 1/2 in.}
AKA Ficus Repens, Creeping Fig, Fig Vine, Climbing Fig, Creeping Rubber Plant, Creeping Ficus
Creeping Fig is a small, tidy woody vine. This easily grown and beautiful evergreen groundcover is a favorite in warm climates.
A true fig - it is a relative of the edible fig - it will climb objects 20 feet or more by aerial rootlets. Without something to climb it will spread indefinitely into a short, dense trailing groundcover. Mature leaves are 2"-4" long.
Due to its fine attractive foliage, shade tolerance and fast growth rate (once established), Ficus pumila is one of the best vines for creating dense green coverings cascading over walls and from elevated planters. It will form a similar horizontal carpet when there is nothing to climb. It goes particularly well under palms and clump-forming tropicals.

Water when dry when young. Once the vine matures you can let it fend for itself even during droughts. Foliage may vary depending on climate and environment (glossiness, shade, etc.). Not recommended for covering wooden structures (tends to destroy wood).
It prefers moist, well-drained, organically rich, loamy soil and partial shade but will tolerate full sun. No maintenance once established, tolerant of drought for short periods, and can tolerate freezing temperatures for short durations. Moderately tolerant of salt (will grow at seaside if protected behind dunes or buildings), minimal foot traffic is tolerated. Spacing 12-15 in. Mature prostrate height 1/2"-1 1/2".
